Dayali Beijing Roast Duck
About This Spot
Stepping into Dayali Beijing Roast Duck feels like finding a small slice of northern China nestled in the heart of Markham. The space carries a quiet warmth—a gentle hum of conversation, the subtle clatter of plates, and the inviting aroma of roasted duck and spices that beckons you deeper. It’s a place where time slows just enough to savor not only a meal but also the feeling of gathering around a shared table, whether with family, friends, or those new to the tradition.
Here, the experience unfolds through layers of texture and flavor, from the irresistible crispness of the Beijing duck skin to the comforting folds of delicate pancakes, waiting to be wrapped around tender slices and bright accents like cucumber or scallions. Each dish has a story—sometimes whispered in the cool notes of a refreshing noodle salad dressed in sesame sauce, or in the understated sweetness of red bean-filled fried sticky rice that feels like a soft encore to a vibrant meal.
What stands out beyond the food is the thoughtful care behind the entire setting. The attentive, steady pace encourages you to relax and savor each bite, while the clean, unpretentious surroundings make it easy to focus on the moment and the company at hand. The restaurant welcomes a diverse crowd—from those familiar with the rich traditions of Beijing cuisine to newcomers eager to experience its nuances for the first time.
What many find memorable is how the robust spices and herbal notes enliven dishes without overwhelming—highlighting rather than masking the ingredients. This balance invites exploration of lesser-known specialties that sit alongside the iconic roast duck, like the braised pork with abalone or the spicy fresh fish that carries a bold yet approachable kick. It’s a thoughtful rhythm that invites you to taste thoughtfully, one dish at a time.
Dayali isn’t just about authenticity in flavor—it’s about a shared journey to savor a culinary heritage, served warmly and with a gentle pulse of familiarity. It’s a spot that invites you to linger, to let the simple act of a well-prepared meal open doors to new stories, comfort, and connection.

I recently visited Dayali in Markham, and it was an excellent dining experience from start to finish. Their Peking duck is definitely the star of the menu—crispy skin, tender meat, and perfectly prepared. I also enjoyed all the other dishes and the soup, which were flavorful, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. On top of the great food, the restaurant is very clean and well-kept, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for delicious dishes in a comfortable, tidy environment, Dayali is definitely worth a visit!

The most authentic Beijing Duck restaurant in Toronto! We went to the Markham location. Their price is also reasonable! It’s good for families gatherings

Fancy place, good has a different flavor, you would like it if you like the extra accent with your food, it contains a lot of spices and herbs to accentuate the flavors of the food. Reasonable pricing and dishes are good portion for a family of 10. The extra plate of Peking duck on the side is from the neck area, extra crispy.

This is a great place to enjoy some Peking Duck at a reasonable price! Around 38$ for half a duck and 65$ for a whole one. The portions are large and filling and the food is great as well. I do wish they would have more skin and less meat for the duck slices but it was still tasty regardless. The sauce was flavourful and the toppings were nicely prepared as well. I do feel like the amount of cucumbers were lacking a bit for the amount of pieces duck. The service was fast but they weren't really friendly nor welcoming at all.

I haven’t been in a while but I’m glad I came back. The food is delicious. Of course you must try the duck. The wrap is thin and silky, allowing the duck to be the star. I also love the pork belly with bao, melts in your mouth tender. I enjoyed everything we ordered.

The Peking duck at Dayali Warden is honestly amazing. The skin is super crispy, the meat is tender and juicy, and everything is packed with flavor. They slice it right at your table, and you can tell it's freshly made. The pancakes are soft and thin, and when you wrap everything together with the sauce and scallions, it just hits the spot. Tastes really close to the authentic Beijing-style duck. If you're looking for proper Peking duck in Toronto, this is definitely the place to go.

We had the Peking duck, crab tofu, yam with blueberries, and the fish. The food was very delicious overall, though a bit on the pricey side. The restaurant and washrooms were very clean.
